Doncaster PCT Awards 2009
Doncaster dentists were part of this years NHS award winners. The dental Quality and outcomes Framework (QoF) was awarded first prize by NHS Doncasters professional executive committe at this years award ceremony. The QoF is encouraging practices to implement a range of initiatives that improve the quality of service and experience for patients. The framework has been developed in partnership with NHD Doncaster (formerly Doncaster PCT) and local clinicians from the LDC.
We also received a third place position for the work that has been done to commission additional services and provide access for thousands of local residents to access dental services easier and quicker. this has involoved a range of initiatives that has led to 10 extra dentists being employed in the area and waiting times fro orthodontic treatment and oral surgery have been drastically reduced.
Doncaster Local Dental Committee (LDC)
We are committed to be a source of support, advice and reference for member dentists in the Doncaster area. The Doncaster Local Dental Committee (LDC) has an important role to play in working with the PCT to help develop dental services for the population of Doncaster.
What is the Doncaster LDC?
The Committee is a statutory body representing in the main General Dental Practitioners, (GDPs) based in the Primary Care Trust area of Doncaster. Salaried practitioners may also be represented on payment of the LDC Levy. The local representative committee for independent Dental
practitioners, the LDC has the statutory right to be consulted by
Doncaster Primary Care Trust and Strategic Health Authority on issues
relating to the dental profession.
Doncaster LDC
is an independent body paid for by GDPs themselves via a voluntary Levy
based on a specified amount per practitioner, per annum. Expenditure of
this Levy is restricted to administration of the Committee and may not
be used for anything else.
The main function of the Doncaster LDC
is to represent and support General Dental Practitioners (GDPs); to
ensure that GDPs are properly valued, and their skills properly
utilised; that, whilst serving the public, they are able to uphold
appropriate standards of practice.
Doncaster LDC MeetingsAny
dental practitioner working in the Doncaster area is welcome to attend
meetings with the prior notification being made to the Secretary and
subsequent consent of the Chairman. |
